Taiwanese-German pianist Julia Hermanski began her piano studies at the age of 6 years old under C. Reggiani in Lingen. She was discovered as a “rough diamond“ at the International Grotrian Steinweg Piano Competition in Braunschweig, and as a result began to study at the Academy of Music in Hannover. In 2007, she entered the Academy’s Institute for the "Early Intervention of Highly Talented Musicians" (IFF) and started training under Prof. R. Krüger.

Julia Hermanski has been a prizewinner in many competitions. Most recently winning at the On Stage International Classical Music Competition 2019 in Rome, the Vienna International Music Competition 2018 in the Konzerthaus Wien and the North International Music Competition in Stockholm.

In 2017, she was awarded “Virtuoso of the Year” at the International Piano Competition in Munich, as well as the Drobitko-Prize for “Creative Daring” and the “Clavis-Festival-Prize” in Saint Petersburg. She has been the winner of the Youth Cultural Prize "Talente 2009" in the counties of Emsland/Bentheim, the “Zonta Musikpreis”, and received 1st Prize at the Bitburger Piano Competition in 2008.

She has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as the Toruń Symphony Orchestra, Youth Symphony Orchestra Eifel-Ardennen, Osnabrücker Symphonieorchester and Luxembourg Philharmonia. In spite of her intense work as a soloist she cherishes chamber music projects. As one of only a few students of Prof. Wolfram Riegers’ Lied class in Berlin, she currently intensifies her knowledge about the interaction of words and sound. In 2012, she was featured in TV-productions in collaboration with the Persian-German TV channel “PDF”, and in 2017 and 2018 with ARD Degeto and Arte.

Julia Hermanski has studied at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, the University of Music in Cologne with Prof. Ilja Scheps, and the "Hanns Eisler" School of Music with Prof. Eldar Nebolsin. She has received invaluable guidance and inspiration from working with artists such as Prof. Thomas Quasthoff, Cuarteto Casals, Artemis Quartet and Prof. Dmitri Bashkirov.
